Lakers Will Pick Second in the 2017 Draft
The Los Angeles Lakers have received the second overall pick in the 2017 draft.
The Lakers were able to defy the odds for the third year in a row by keeping their top three proceed pick while also obtaining the 28th pick in the first round earlier in the year from the Houston Rockets.
Because the Lakers were able to keep this years pick they were also able to keep their 2019 first round pick but would end up losing their 2018 first round pick.
Magic Johnson represented the franchise at the draft lottery and was filled with joy as soon as he had realized that the Lakers had made it into the top three.
Lakers fans are rejoiced at the opportunity the Lakers organization has in front of itself.
Whether the Lakers keep the pick in order to pick up a Markelle Fultz or Lonzo Ball, who are the favorites for the top two picks in most draft boards, or trade the pick for a superstar, fans are excited to see some change.
The 2017 NBA draft will be held on June 22, 2017, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
